Missions and competencies

Optimising your product performance

Third party certification is crucial in terms of promoting the quality of your products in an increasingly competitive market.
It is an assurance of reliability of equipment characteristics and so helps build trust between manufacturers, users and specifiers.
This is especially important in a European regulatory environment characterised by energy consumption reduction targets for buildings and requiring use of very high performing equipment in terms of energy efficiency.

CERTITA facilitates product identification and selection

  • provides contracting authorities, the entire professional sector and consumers with the means to make objective comparisons
  • contributes to the creation of installations and facilities based on reliable and controlled data
  • helps attain greenhouse gas reduction targets and optimise energy consumption

CERTITA manages the entire certification process

From the initial application by a manufacturer through to certificate issuance, CERTITA arranges all the procedures leading to certification: tests, audits and evaluations.

  • CERTITA is a simplified joint-stock company, a joint subsidiary of 4 French bodies whose directors make up its supervisory board:
  • ATITA (Association Technique des Industries Thermiques et Aérauliques)
  • CETIAT (Centre Technique des Industries Aérauliques et Thermiques)
  • CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment)
  • LNE (Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d’Essais)

Our company is entirely dedicated to product certification in the field of Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Systems Engineering. The various certification applications are managed by Case Managers who are your direct contacts for the whole certification process. The operations required for certification comprise in particular factory assessment audits, often performed by the CERTITA Case Manager, and verification tests subcontracted to Laboratories which are notably CERTITA shareholders.

Annual turnover: approximately 2 million Eurostar, excluding subcontracted testing services.
CERTITA issues or manages 20 certifications and labels for close on 300 HVACR companies of which 40% are foreign companies.
300 audits are conducted each year for certifications issued by CERTITA

Development & outlook

CERTITA's development strategy focuses on extending its offer in order to better meet market needs and expectations, firstly by widening the scope of its certifications and secondly by anticipating changes in regulations and requirements relative to products in this sector.

Whether in response to the rapid growth in our market of hybrid systems involving multiple energy sources or technologies, or to European Directives introducing new requirements, CERTITA continues to develop and adapt its offer to the market so that its certifications enable optimal product promotion.
